The many assaults around the CU campus last fall led to a task force that may be changing the way students are educated about gender violence.
The student-run Gender Violence Task Force, inspired by the various assaults, hopes to educate students about gender and domestic violence.
Davian Gagne, of CU's Office of Victim's Assistance, is a part of the task force that is being voted on Thursday evening. Davian's position as Gender Violence Prevention and Education Coordinator was added after the Lisa Simpson's scandal convicted CU football recruits of sexual assault.
The Office of Victim's Assistance, located in Willard Hall, offers free confidential information, support, and short term counseling to CU students and their significant others.
The meeting to vote on the task force will be held Thursday at 7pm in UMC 247. The meeting is open to all students.
